in scifi there seems to be several types of ftl: one is typical warp like drive of trek, and star wars, and hyperdrives which is similar to transwarp/slipstream/xindi vortex travel, which is interdimensional travel so not technically violating light speed. and the least common one is interdimensional teleportation, BSG reimanging uses this tech, although they dint bother trying to explain it with technobabble at all, because of the showrunners allergy to trek-speak. STD, and a single episode arc of tng a group of terrorists were using interdimensional transporters.
trek also had other forms of ftl, but those are very rare, and its pretty much similar to the last 2.

fusion maybe, but in scifi, it often requires an alien race making first contact, we wont even get to things like anti-matter tech without that intervention. SG1 is more in our time frame, but with aliens already possessing advanced tech
high viscosity means you cant even “swim”

education, because of centuries of mysogyny, now that women are getting alot of funding and help in thier college careers, and beyond. and men are practically ditching it halfway because they dont see themselves even with thier degrees getting a job in it also a little sexisms plays into it, this makes them extremely bitter and turn to right wing echo chambers, because it gives them validation. an asian ytubers did this, got extremely bitter because his psyche degree had no job , so now hes a trumper, and blames educaiton is useless to thier followers.
also socially women when interviewing are better at getting certain jobs than men, like in biology related fields.

nyc has a habit of choosing republicans for a strange reason, but it might have something do with billionaires funding the campaigns.

listerias is a problem if your immunocompromised, or pregnant, usually its milder in healthy people. the reason why its so virulent amongs susceptible, because it can zoom around infected cells, using thier cytoskeleton, this allows it to spread from cell to cell very quickly, while most other infections require the cells bursting, or the bacteria exiting the cell.
bsg, sga all had the brain interface thing going on. especially the cylon part was all about that.
